Marine National Parks of Malindi and Watamu are located within a fringing reef on the central coast and are considered Kenya's best marine parks. These marine parks are best known for their spectacular coral reef, brilliantly colored fish, green turtle and other sea life they support. Other features include coral gardens within the lagoons, sea grass beds, and the Mida Creek mangrove forest which is a bird sanctuary. Other attractions include Kipepeo project and Gede ruins. The islands of Lamu, Pate, Manda and Kiwayu in Malindi all contribute to the beauty of the Kenyan coastline.
