DAY 1: HELLSGATE NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast you depart for Hell's Gate National Park located south of Lake Naivasha and it’s an ideal venue for weekend retreat away from urban life of Nairobi. The diversity of its topography provides for spectacular cliff and gorge walks and incredible geological scenery. The park's rock formations attract a large volume of rock climbing enthusiasts with the famous Fischer's Tower, the Central Tower and the Njorowa Gorge being the star attractions. Obsidian, a striking black glassy rock formed from cooled molten lava is also a feature of this landscape. Other activities include cycling & horse riding. You can also enjoy a boat ride in the nearby Lake Naivasha which is famous for its hippo population. The Olkaria Geothermal Station, the first of its kind in Africa, was established in 1981 and generates geothermal power underneath Hell's Gate from the area's hot springs and geysers. DAY 2: LAKE BORORIA
You are picked from your hotel at 9:00am after breakfast and depart for Lake Bogoria arriving in time for lunch. After lunch drive to Lake Bogoria Park with the spectacular scenery of stunning bird life, hippos and crocodiles. The water is very highly alkaline supporting no fish life at all and contains blue-green algae that attract thousands of flamingoes that flock the lake and add color turning the shores pink. You have an excellent chance of photographing. Lake Bogoria is known for its hot springs dotted around the southern shore of the lake. The hot springs erupt along the lakeside, 5 meters into the air and produce a strong pungent sulfur smell known to have therapeutic values. However scenic, the water is dangerously hot and visitors are asked to tread carefully. Dinner and overnight at your Lodge (Full Board)
Day 3: LAKE BOGORIA
Nearby we have Lake Baringo, a freshwater lake. It is most famous as an ornithological paradise with 500 bird species, hippos and crocodiles. Baringo Community Museum and Reptile Park educates local people and visitors about reptile species. The museum displays several species of snakes, including the black mamba, puff adder, boomslang (tree snake) and spitting cobra as well as monitor lizards, crocodiles and a central pit shared by endangered tortoises and harmless stripe bellied sand snakes. Day 4: LAKE NAKURU
After breakfast you depart for the world famous bird sanctuary and home to 1/3 of the population of flamingoes worldwide. You arrive at your lodge in time for a sumptuous lunch. After lunch at about 1600hrs you depart for the game drive. The game drives will include the shores of this world famous bird sanctuary home to lesser and greater flamingo, pelican and fish eagle. Besides the birds, the park is also home to the black rhino, buffalo, Rothschild giraffe, lion, and defassa waterbucks. The elusive leopard is frequently spotted here “Keep your sights on the tree tops”. Dinner and overnight at your Lodge (Full Board)
Day 5: DEPART TO NAIROBI
Early morning pre-breakfast game drive at 6:30am. Return to the lodge for breakfast at 8:00am. Thereafter, drive back to Nairobi and have a brief stop-over at the “view point” where you also have an opportunity to purchase some souvenirs. On arrival in Nairobi at 1200hrs you are transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your outbound flight.
