Samburu Adventure.......... Reflections of Africa!



Day 1: TREE HOTEL
This morning you depart for our tree hotel set at the base of Mount Kenya. We drive north of Nairobi through the beautiful Pineapple plantations and its lovely coffee trees into the Green White Highlands. The tree hotel is ringed by a dense rain forest, which comes alive at dusk with a myriad of sounds of creatures all sizes. Constantly towering the scene are the majestic rocky peaks of Mount Kenya, providing some dramatic photographic opportunities. Rest of the day at leisure. Enjoy game viewing throughout the evening and at night where you may see elephant, buffalo, rhino and waterbuck. A specially constructed viewing bunker at the lodge, connected by a short tunnel, offers spectacular views of wildlife at the waterhole. (Full Board)

Day 2: SAMBURU
This morning after breakfast you drive into the Northern Hemisphere as you cross the equator into the semi arid frontier district arriving into the lovely Samburu National Park. The Uwaso Nyiro River which means 'muddy waters' in the local language is the lifeblood line of the Samburu region. Its vital water gives life to the population of both man and wildlife for miles around. After a delicious luncheon, we relax for a while before embarking on our first evening game drive. Return to the lodge at sunset and enjoy a delicious dinner followed by an overnight stay. (Full Board)


Day 3: SAMBURU

Early rise as you begin pre-breakfast game drive at 6:30am. Samburu becomes a haven for riverine birdlife and an ornithological paradise with its amazing variety of hornbills, kingfishers. After our morning game drive to see Crocodile, Lion, Elephant, Eland, Oryx, Grevy Zebra and Leopard, we return to the lodge for a cooling dip in the pool or just to relax. After lunch another game drive. We also visit the Samburu manyattas (villages) where we meet the Samburu people and learn about their culture. Dinner and overnight at the lodge. (Full Board)



Day 4: SWEETWATERS GAME SANCTUARY
Today you drive to the exotic Sweetwaters Game Reserve, now “Ol Pejeta Conservancy” a 90,000 acre private ranch between the foot hills of the Abedares and the magnificent snowcapped Mount Kenya. The combination of amazing wildlife and stunning views across the open plains guarantees an unforgettable safari experience!
Sweetwaters Tented Camp set in the pristine calm of the private Ol Pejeta Conservancy offers a charming blend of under-canvas ambiance and safari luxury.
Its popular waterhole is floodlit by night, providing excellent game viewing including the big five. The reserve comprises extensive savannah grasslands and the riverine forests that border the Ewaso Nyiro River. Sweetwaters excels in private game viewing and is Mt Kenya region’s best kept secret. Game rides on horseback or perched atop camels within the sanctuary is a unique experience. You will spend the entire day exploring the ranch. In the afternoon you will visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary Dinner and overnight at the lodge. (Full Board)

Day 5: BACK TO NAIROBI
Early morning rise for breakfast and depart at 9:00am for Nairobi. On arrival at 2:00pm you are transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your outbound flight.
